Deep water culture (DWC) system provides everything you need to get started with this unique hydroponic growing method. Included in the kit is a 20 Litre grow pot, Net wick pot, Air pump, hose & air stone, Clay balls and more. This single bucket hydroponic growing system is a great starter for those new to the world of DWC.

About Deep Water Culture

DWC is a special type of hydroponics where plants grow with their roots immersed in an aerated nutrient solution. In a DWC setup, the plants are suspended in special pots or nets with their roots stretching down, immersed in a pool of aerated, nutrient-rich water.

DWC hydroponic systems operate based on the idea that plant roots can grow while submerged in water, provided the water is extremely oxygenated. The amount of water that is needed in a DWC system will vary based on the size of the root system. When the plant is young and has a small root system, the water level should come up about 1″ from the bottom of the net pot(s). Once the roots begin to grow down into the oxygenated and fertilised water, the water level should be lowered about 1-2″ a week until the bucket or container is between half and two-thirds full. The water level should stay at half to two-thirds full for the remainder of the growing cycle.
