Perlite & Vermiculite

Excellent in Hydroponics and Gardening, both Perlite & Vermiculite improve aeration, water retention and drainage. With many uses, Propagation - Cuttings, Seed sowing, Breaking down compacted soils, Mix with any growing substrate in your garden from Compost, Coco Coir - Fibre, Potting mix, Clay, Top soil to improve aeration & drainage.

Perlite is extremely porous so it can absorb & retain some water. Perlite is primarily used to aerate and improve drainage creating a free draining growing mix. It also helps to prevent the compaction of growing mixes, helping to give roots the room they need to grow. 

Vermiculite can absorb up to four times its weight in water making it better for water and nutrient retention than perlite and is best used for plants that need more moisture to grow. Vermiculite also protects seedlings against damping-off and other fungal diseases.

Perlite & Vermiculite are lightweight and naturally occurring they are expanded when heated to around 1000°C until they pop to many times there original size. Sterile, Relatively easy to handle, Long lasting, pH neutral being neither alkaline nor acidic

Perlite & Vermiculite can be dusty, so take care and avoid inhaling the dust. Wear a mask or dampen the product with water before using especially when pouring from bags.
