Clay Balls

Clay Pebbles commonly referred to as Clay balls but also known as LECA which is short for Lightweight expanded clay aggregate.

Manufactured in the Netherlands from high grade special types of clay that have a low soluble salt content and then baked into clay pellets ranging in size. Clay balls are an ideal substrate – growing medium having a neutral pH value, No EC or CF value effecting your nutrient balance and being inorganic and fungus free so they do not rot and can be easily washed and reused. Clay balls have both high porosity up to 80% and high air content which stimulate the development of strong roots that grip the substrate well. Strong roots mean healthier plants and bigger yields.
