Coco Earth 100% Organic Coir Substrate 50 Litre Bag - Galuku
Coco Earth is a Ready-to-go 100% Organic Coir Substrate growing medium. Galuku Coir substrates usually known as Coco Coir or Coco Peat are 100% Organic and free from chemical additives and soil disease, pH range of 5.8 – 6.2, Electrical conductivity (Salt concentration indicator) < 0.5 MSC, 50 Litre bag weighs only 9kg
The Air-Filled Porosity (AFP) and Water Holding Capacity (WHC) in Galuku substrates are engineered for a wide range of crop varieties. Getting a good combination of AFP and WHC is important for successful plant growth. Coco Earth ensures the perfect combination of moisture, nutrient and air allowing plants and crops to flourish with a 30% Air Filled Porosity, 60% Water Holding Capacity, 50% Water Retention Efficiency
Coco Earth’s consistent coir substrate properties are ideal in Hydroponics, including recirculating and free drain systems. The high lignin content of Coco Earth makes it highly resistant to breakdown and hence resists change over time. The natural fungicidal properties of Coco Earth are effective in greatly reducing the incidence of root diseases. Electrical conductivity and pH consistency are easily achieved with Coco Earth. Even under adverse climatic conditions root health is maintained. It is essential that a complete and balanced liquid nutrient specific for your crop and growing systems are used in conjunction with Coco Earth.
Being lightweight, Coco Earth is also ideal for Green Walls, Roof Top Gardens, Seed Raising and all Planting Mixes. Coco Earth can easily be mixed with other lightweight inorganic materials such as Perlite, Vermiculite, Clay Balls (LECA) or Pumice.
Galuku provides consistent quality coir substrates with OMRI certification for use in organic cultivation, study’s show growing systems thrive and have a marked improvement in plant health when Coco Earth is used.
What is Coir?, Coir describes the fibrous matter of the coconut husk surrounding the hard inner shell of the coconut which contains the coconut flesh and milk.
- ✓ Moisture Retention: Cocopeat has a high water-holding capacity. This CocoEarth mix allows for consistent moisture levels in the substrate while reducing the risk of overwatering and root rot - disease
- ✓ Great Aeration: Despite its water-retentive qualities, CocoEarth also provides good aeration to plant roots. It allows for the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the root zone, promoting healthy root development.
- ✓ pH Neutral: Cocopeat typically has a neutral pH, and perlite is also pH neutral. This CocoEarth mix is likely to maintain a pH close to neutral, making it suitable for a wide range of plants. However, it's important to monitor and adjust the pH as needed for specific plant requirements.
- ✓ Nutrient Retention: Cocopeat can hold onto and release certain nutrients over time, improving nutrient retention.
- ✓ Low Salinity: CocoEarth is low in salts, which can be harmful to plant roots. This low salinity makes it an excellent choice for sensitive plants and for growers who want more control over nutrient levels.
- ✓ Light weight and consistent, Cocoearth is ideal as seed raising substrate, hydroponics, hydrogen walls and roof top gardens.
- ✓ Maximise plant growth and health with consistent quality and properties over time
- ✓ OMRI listed for organic, OMRI certified means they meet standards for organic production and hydroponic cultivation and suitable for organic, sustainable horticulture. The certification ensures they are free from chemical additives and soil diseases, making them ideal for growing herbs, flowers, and fruits
