Potassium Silicate Bioavailable K2O + SiO2 Use Only 1ml Per Litre - 1 Litre
Horticultural Potassium Silicate offers numerous benefits to your plants, stems thicken, the plant becomes more tolerant to drought and resists wilting, larger leaves and flowers - fruit. The thicker cell walls of the plant also provide an added mechanical resistance to sap sucking insects like spider mite and various pathogenic fungi like powdery mildew. You get all of this by simply increasing your plants bioavailable silicon and potassium compounds when using our premium K2O and SiO2 blend.
Potassium Silicate Use Benefits To Plants
- Bioavailable, water soluble additive that plant roots can readily absorb and use
- Using Potassuim Silicate means Stronger plants with thicker stems which can support more weight from larger leaves and flowers - fruit.
- Higher tolerance to drought and helps resistance to wilting
- Potassium Silicate also aids your plants with a mechanical resistance to sap sucking insects and various pathogenic fungi
Directions for use
- Shake Bottle well before use, then use at a rate of 1ml per litre of reservoir - tank solution. The product works best when slightly prediluted before adding to your reservoir - tank
- When watering Potassium Silicate into a growing media, premix in a reasonable volume of water or nutrient solution first, then water in to your media as required
- 1ml per Litre equates to 1000ppm of product which yields K2O at 27ppm and SiO2 at 53ppm, you can increase to 2ml per Litre if a higher ppm is required
- Potassium Silicate will make the growing medium and reservoir stock solution slightly more alkaline so check your pH levels 10 - 20 minutes after adding ensuring your tank has been stirred or agitated well.
- 24 hours after you have dosed your reservoir tank you should check your pH levels again and adjust as required
Most crops have a recommendation of 50-100ppm, and always start at lower level until you are confident with your dosage. Some varieties and crops will begin to show deficiencies of other minerals if Silica is too high.
Crops grown with potassium silicate have higher chlorophyll concentrations in their leaves than crops grown without them. More chlorophyll means more power to use the nutrients in its environment to reach its maximum size and production.
Crops are also healthier for anybody who consumes them. When toxic heavy metals like lead and arsenic are present in a growing environment, they travel up plant roots alongside the nutrients the plants need. Everything the plant takes in ends up in its final product. Potassium silicate or silica keep heavy metals from reaching crops, by creating a rock solid barrier around plant cell structures.
